Fall and Home Decor
MyrtleBeachOnline.com posted an article recently about the way popular home decorating colors tend to follow the patterns of nature in fall.
Well duh! but they did have some insight into why this happens.
Basically, as the summer starts to sip into the colder seasons of fall and winter, we begin to feel the urge to hibernate. We don’t want to literally sleep through the winter, but since it is getting colder, we do want to start retreating into the comfort of our warm happy homes.
That is why we tend to move towards browns, reds, and soft oranges in the fall. Because these colors provide us with comfort, they make us feel safe, and remind us of family and home.
Ironically, this has nothing to do with the leaves changing colors. However, the cool temps eliciting a need for warmth, mixed with the change in our environment, makes it almost inevitable that we will start decorating more towards brown green and red trends.
